Meet Dr. A
Welcome! My full name is Mikaela Arredondo and my heritage is Mexican-American. My last name can be difficult to pronounce so please feel free to call me Dr. A. I am proud to bring culture to the medical field and I love to work with people of all genders, cultures, and backgrounds. I often find that these foundational roots are important factors in the healing process and exploring them with compassion in a safe space can be extremely therapeutic.
I am a board certified Naturopathic Doctor and I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), the oldest accredited naturopathic medical university in North America and one of the most respected in the world. In addition to my doctorate degree, I spent three years studying integrative mental health with techniques focusing on the mind-body connection and I love to incorporate those techniques into my practice.
Symptoms, diseases, and/or disorders are our body’s way of telling us there is an imbalance. My approach to healing is evaluating someone holistically and connecting the dots to determine the root cause of illness. This allows the space to create an individualized treatment plan that is safe and effective.
The modalities I use are clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, targeted nutraceuticals, specialty laboratory testing, bodywork/massage, lifestyle modifications, flower essences, and when absolutely needed pharmaceutical medications. My goal as a practitioner is to aide you in finding optimal balance and wellness in mind, body, and spirit. The body knows how to heal, it just needs the chance to do so by removing the obstacles in its way. Whether through my care or the outside resources I can connect you with, I would be honored to work with you through your healing journey.

I am professionally certified in Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage and Integrative Pelvic Floor Therapy. Both modalities use specific techniques to address a wide range of complaints including, but not limited to: back pain, GI dysfunction, heavy or abnormal menses, painful menses, pain with intercourse, prolapse, endometriosis, erectile dysfunction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and the list goes on! Feel free to reach out for more information on these two powerful therapeutics.

I am a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), Maine Association of Naturopathic Doctors (MAND), International Lyme and Associated Disease (ILADS), Psychiatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PsychANP), and Naturopathic Medicine Institute (NMI).
